About the Inspector
Paul has been in the inspections industry since the mid 90's. He is a nationally recognized inspector for his association work with the NICFI, IICRC, CFI, NWFA, FCICA and FCLC. A well rounded education he is certified by four different bodies in substrates, carpet, hardwood, laminate, hard surface and resilient. As a public speaker he has given presentations for the NWFA, IICRC Journal, NICFI, CFI and FCICA. Further work within the industry includes being an approved instructor with the IICRC and CFI as well as President of an approved school the National Academy of Floor Coverings Training.
Paul has been in floor coverings industry since 1990 and first certified by the IICRC as a senior Carpet Inspector in 1995. The first certification was earned at a course given by Carl Williams, of the Academy of Textiles. The NWFA Wood Floor Inspector certification was added in 2005. Paul is also one of only 23 NWFA Certified Commercial Wood Floor Inspectors in the country, attaining that certification in 2008. The Vinyl and Hard surface inspector certification from Will Stoner at Inspector Training Services was added in 2014. Several continuing education credits have been earned in each year of certification as required by the certifying bodies. These include classes from college professors at the Forest Products Lab in Madison Wisconsin and from professors at NC State and Virginia Tech. The courses are in Wood Sciences that taught the physiology of wood and how it is affected by the gain and loss of moisture as well as the affects of the kiln drying process on wood. Paul Attends the annual NICFI convention which is three days of in depth education on all types of flooring materials, substrates and environments. Paul also attends 2-3 courses per year provided by the Flooring Inspectors Educational Guild.
Very active in the Floor Inspections industry Paul is serving on committees for the NWFA, IICRC, FCLC, FEG and NICFI as well as on the Board of the NICFI and Floorcoverings Inspectors Educational Guild. Paul was elected Vice President of the NICFI in 2010, President in 2012 and again elected President in 2014. As President of the NICFI Paul has initiated the NICFI Mentor Program to further the education of new or inexperienced inspectors, help start the Floor Coverings Leadership Council With the WFCA, NWFA, FCICA, MIA and others, helped design and implement two new NICFI web sites including the claimssolutions.org site that has generated an estimated $1.5 Million dollars in new inspection work for NICFI inspectors.
